Christmas Eve

We had a great time celebrating on Christmas Eve. This year to tell the Christmas story we did it from the animals perspective who were in the barn with Mary and Joseph. They each had something to give baby Jesus. The sheep gave a warm blanket. The chicken gave eggs. The owl kept watch and gave a flashlight. The pig sang a song on a lute. We also had a cow give milk, a horse give hay and a mouse give cheese. In the middle of the room was baby Jesus in a manger and so the boys would take the items and give them to baby Jesus. At the end we talked about what they can give to baby Jesus...love, being kind to other, etc... It was a fun way for the boys so hear the story. After that we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Then they got to open presents. Here is our annual family picture. We decided to add the dogs in this time. Here is a before picture... ....and the after picture. I think it turned out pretty good. It was a great night with family celebrating the birth of Jesus.
