Jesus Is Risen!!!

One thing I love about Easter morning is how joyous an occasion it is. On Friday it is very somber because Jesus died and everyone was so sad. Thank goodness the story does not end there. On Sunday morning we can rejoice because He did not stay dead but rose again. Praise the Lord!!!

Our Easter Sunday started off with Ryan opening his Easter basket.

We then headed to Church where we met Bill's mom, dad and Grandma. Bill's parents are visiting this week and it was so wonderful to have them come to Church with us. After a great service we drove to Riverside to celebrate at Bill's great Aunt Sheila's house. One tradition that their family has is to blow out eggs and fill them with confetti. Then they hide them and when the kids find them you smash them over someone's head and confetti goes everhwhere. Well, Ryan had a blast doing this. It is not very often that we let him hit things over peoples heads!!

Ryan did much better at this egg hunt because there was no candy in the eggs. He actually ran around and found quite a few and put them in his bag. And then after he found a few the smashing began...

I hope he never tries to do this with a regular egg!!!

After that we headed back down to Long Beach to have Easter dinner with my family. It was a wonderful day to celebrate that Jesus is Risen. I hope you all had a joyous day.

What a fun day! That is great that you got to see both sides of the family. Merrick and I were in Eugene and ran by the Butler's house, so we were thinking about you all on Saturday. Hope all is well. Let us know if you are planning a trip up north. Not sure when we'll be down again, but hopefully sooner rather than later.
