Easter Activities

On Thursday Ryan had an Easter Parade at school. They made hats and marched around the school to Easter music. He really enjoyed himself. They dyed eggs and had a Easter party in their classroom. The sent them home with a jelly bean Easter poem. I was going to take a picture of it but Ryan ate them!!! But here is the poem that came with it.

Red is for the blood Christ gave
Green grass grew beside his grave
Yellow is for His sun so bright
Black is when the day turned night
Purple is for His hour of sorrow
Pink is for our new tomorrow
White is for the angel's clothes
Orange is for the new day He rose.

A bag of jelly beans colorful and sweet is a prayer-is a promise-is anyone's treat.

On Friday we continued the holiday by dying Easter eggs at my parents house.

Then on Saturday we went to Easter in the park. They had a big candy hunt. We all lined up and when they said go we ran to get the candy. There was a mass of people and I had to hold onto Ryan so that he would not get lost. Bill turned away from us for one sec and couldn't find us again. Even though I was a little overwhelmed Ryan had fun and got some candy out of it.

They had a police car that the kids could sit in. Bill told Ryan "this is the only time I want to see you in the back of a police car" :)

Bill's dad Tom is here visiting for the weekend and so he came with us to the park. He and Ryan had fun looking at a big tractor.

It was a wonderful couple of days and we are looking forward to Sunday where we can celebrate that Jesus is Risen.
